Do we really need to be notified at random of all the *new* categories (plenty of which are misspelled, by the way) that people are deciding that any given pic belongs in? Really, with that sort of logic, every pic could have as many different classifications as it does votes, especially when people are using "dumb" and "delete" as a category. I think we should eliminate these or at least make it not randomly blocking out useful things, like porn.

They're tags, not tabs or categories. The reason I make that distinction? Because tagging is freewheeling and random. I really like women in jeans (and various states of undress involving jeans) so every time a pic comes along involving jeans, I tag it. That way I can go back later and not have to slog through 895 blonde pictures to get to what I want. The underlying theory of tagging is, "The more, the better."

Ok, I agree with that sort of thing, but I don't need to always see a running total of the "Most Popular" or "Last 6 Added" when I would like to see the newest images and what have you. I like porn and nude women, but I'm not about to go and tag several thousand images. I might as well just use my own name for doing something like that. My point still remains valid that I don't need to see all the other words other people are using to keep track of their fav images.

If you checkout top list you'll see users who indeed do add tags to thousands of images.

As for not seeing certain boxes. Why don't you click the little - at the top right hand corner of boxes you don't want to see.. you'll find they aren't displayed then.

tags are useful as many images fall into multiple categories. Ie, a blonde sucking dick wearing shoes could be blonde, blowjob, shoes. But if you can also see her tits ou can add another. Far easier to find specifics that you like (such as the jeans example) using tags vs just looking at "blonde" or "blowjob"
